01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
After studying English, you may want a chance to use it in conversation. Cafeliz offers that opportunity as an English conversation café. Visitors have also described it as a place to speak Portuguese and Spanish. It can be a way to try out phrases for travel or practise bringing your classroom English into a real conversation.
One beginner recalled that the foreign staff made a real effort to talk and that the manager helped by interpreting when needed. Another beginner, however, found it difficult to keep up because the tables were not separated by level. If you are new to conversation practice, bear in mind that the pace and levels of other participants may vary from one visit to another. One visitor said they went several times when they could barely speak, and that people around them helped when they could not understand.
Cafeliz is on the 6 floor of Ikebukuro Yoko Heights. It is open Mondays and Fridays from 18:00 to 22:00, and Saturdays and Sundays from 15:00 to 22:00. It is closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
